Opening times : Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9.30am to 2.00pm
The Beacon Shed is an exciting new initiative from Thundersley Congregational Church for men. Sited in an easily accessible part of the church car park off the London Road and opposite the Bread and Cheese & Stellison’s, it is a place for men to come and form genuine friendships and learn from one another.
That’s the purpose of the project, to be a hub where men can gather and share life experiences and learn practical skills from tradesmen and craftsmen.
Members may want to engage in their own projects or be directed toward a simple community project. Or it could simply be to meet, mix and share conversation over a cup of tea or coffee.
The Shed is well equipped with hand and mains and battery-powered tools including woodworking and engineering machinery. All activities are supervised by an appropriately qualified tradesman. Beacon Shed Members will be able to make, mend, repair or restore items for themselves, family, and friends and for local good cause community projects.
The annual membership fee is £25.00 and daily attendance subs is £2.50 all of which will go toward insurance, maintenance and development costs for the shed. The scope of potential activities available is limited only by the constraints of space, time and your imagination.
